Gerne habe ich das Angebot von Sunfilm Entertainment angenommen, die am 05. Juli 2012 erscheinende Dokumentation „2012: Prophezeiung der Maya“ auf Geschichte-Wissen vorzustellen.
InhaltDie Dokumentation begleitet den telegenen Geowissenschaftler Adam Maalof (von der renommierten Princeton Universität) auf seiner Spurensuche zur Erklärung der Maya-Prophezeiung. Anfangs geht er der Theorie der Polwanderung nach. Dabei verschieben sich die Kontinente in Bezug auf die Erdrotationsachse. In Schreckensszenarien könnte so die Metropole New York zur Arktis wandern. Maloof weist zwar nach, dass es auf der Erde bereits eine solche Polwanderung gab – eine neue Polwanderung dauert jedoch mindestens 1 Million Jahre und kann so vom Menschen nicht als Katastrophe wahrgenommen werden.
